Nappy Valley Maths
Hello, I’m Áine, a qualified maths teacher originally from Ireland and now living here between the Commons. In 2019, after several years teaching secondary school maths in London private and state schools, I set up Nappy Valley Maths to provide an extra layer of support for students beyond the busy classroom. I offer tuition for primary and secondary school students from SATS to A-levels. I know the curriculum inside out so I can complement, and improve upon, the learning that has already happened in school. I am experienced in helping children discover how to overcome obstacles, and in providing that little extra stimulation and challenge to those that are a bit bored in the classroom. I want my students to achieve the best grades they can, and I want them to enjoy doing so.
I have completed the Government's vetting process, and have a current DBS certificate.
What I offer
I have a wide range of experience in the classroom, so I can provide general maths support at all stages of education.
I also offer some specific skills that I’ve developed over the years.
Exam preparation:
A-Level, GCSE, Common Entrance, SATS and 11+. Proper preparation can raise achievement and grades.
Under-achieving students:
I’ve a talent and a passion for helping those who find maths hard. Whether by making things more simple, or more fun, or by using creativity to find new ways of approaching a subject, I’m determined to improve levels of learning.
Extending students beyond the classroom:
A relentless focus on exam results can often lead to boredom in the classroom. Results are critical, but I strive also to encourage enthusiasm, teaching around the subject and stimulating the mind.
Special educational needs:
I have particular experience teaching children with dyslexia, dyscalculia, autism spectrum disorders (including Asperger’s), and certain other learning challenges. Please contact me to discuss your circumstances.
Parental support:
I offer adult support on a one-to-one or group basis, to help you help your children.

The prices below are based on one-to-one tuition.
I can offer discounts for group tuition - please get in touch if you are interested.
Introductory hour free of charge to ensure that my tutoring style and your child's learning preferences are well matched, and that we will have a productive relationship.
Primary school - £60 per hour
Secondary up to GCSE - £60 per hour
A-level - £80 per hour
Adult learner - £50 per hour
